How Does Podcast Editing Work?

East Coast Studio offers two types of editing.


  • Basic Editing: This includes taking your audio recording, combining it with your intro/outro/ads/music, enhancing the audio, basic noise and echo reduction, up to 3 timestamped edit requests, and creating a mastered MP3 file ready for distribution.
  • Advanced Editing: Includes everything in basic, but we’ll also carefully go through your entire episode, cleaning up issues such as ums, stumbles, mistakes, long pauses, etc. while still maintaining a natural pace of conversation.
Do You Accept Lists of Timestamped Edits?

Up to 3 timestamped edits are included per episode should you wish to point out mistakes or sections to be removed.

East Coast Studio does offer advanced editing service where we will listen to the entire episode to reduce ums, audible mistakes, stutters, and long pauses. These would be picked up during the advanced editing process and do not need to be provided to us in timestamp form.

We are not able to accept any more than 3 edits per episode or complex script-based projects.

How Long Does Editing Take?

Episode edits are always ready within 2-3 days, while adding services such as show notes can take a little longer.

All delivery times are consistent and guaranteed! 


Can Noise In My Recording Be Reduced?

Audio can almost always be “improved”, but the secret to a great sounding podcast is to get a quality recording from the start.

We’ll be happy to assess any audio before proceeding with a project.

East Coast Studio’s founder is a professional audio engineer and can work with you to capture the best audio quality possible!

Are There Contracts or Commitments?

We believe in fair and honest pricing. There are no setup fees, subscriptions, contracts, or commitments.

At the end of each month you’ll receive an invoice only for the services you used.

Which Payment Methods Are Accepted?

Canada: We accept major credit cards, INTERAC eTransfers, PayPal, and maybe even Canadian Tire money. Applicable sales tax applies to Canadian residents and businesses.

U.S. and International: We accept all major credit cards and PayPal.

We will bill in your local currency.

When ready we’ll send you a Dropbox link for uploading files – no account required. Alternatively you can send files using a service of your choice, so long as we don’t need to sign in to access them.

We’ll chat up front to ensure we’re a good fit for each other. If for some reason you’re not happy with our work, we won’t even send you an invoice.
