You can never get too much exposure for your podcast, and with one of the most used websites/apps in the world jumping on board with podcasting, you’ll want to add your podcast to Facebook right away!

Still in its early stages, Facebook is offering page creators the option to add a podcast to their page. This will allow users to access and play episodes through Facebook and its app, along with sharing custom-made clips of podcast episodes. Note that initially, playback of episodes is available only to U.S. Facebook users on mobile.

The great thing is that Facebook’s podcast feature works just like other major directories such as Apple Podcasts or Spotify. After the initial setup, Facebook will pick up all your new episodes automatically. No extra work involved.

Adding Your Podcast to Your Facebook Page

The process to add your podcast to your page is quite simple. A reminder here that we are speaking specifically about Facebook pages, not personal profiles. So, if you don’t already have a Facebook page related to your podcast/brand/business, you’ll need to create one.

Once you have a Facebook page, view the the page as an admin. You’ll see on the left under “Manage Page” that there’s a Podcasts option if you scroll down a little.

Click “Add podcast” and then you’ll be prompted to paste the RSS feed of your podcast. If you’re not sure what this is, it’s generated by your podcast hosting service.

Following the steps, you’ll be required to verify ownership of the feed by receiving a code to the e-mail address listed on the feed.

After verifying, you’ll be ready to publish! Be sure the “Enable Clips” option is switched on so that people can create and share short clips of your podcast across Facebook.
